In my sketchbook I have created a rough sketch of the main characters of the film, to get a feel for how they'll look and more importantly explore their costumes. For our protagonist we chose to show that he's an average young adult, who's not rich but not poor. Because of this he's wearing jeans and a grey t shirt. We chose the colour grey as sweat is easily visible on this colour of fabric, and at times in the production we would like to show that he's feeling anxious and nervous, so this is one straight forward way to do so.
The air hostess has a generic air hostess's uniform, however it has yellow accents because the colour "activates anxiety in the centre of the brain". This should mirror Luke's emotions and feelings. The rest of the characters in the production are all passengers in the airplane who become more and more distorted and disfigured the longer Luke spends in the dreamscape. To organise each of them I made a grid to show the transformations each of them will make over time. This will not only help us with organisation but will help the makeup and fx people working on the shoot as the transformations are shown in 3 steps. The grid also features a short description under each character to help whoever is reading understand what the disfigurement should show.
